MY WORK

When considering the nature and value of art – I am asking you to look, to perceive, and to think. I want you to think about how art influences your life. What does art seem to do to us, or for us, or with us, when we see it, or remember it, or think about it, or wonder about it – when it causes us to imagine and feel? Think about what happens inside, when we contemplate the nature and value of art.

Throughout the creative process, artists use the elements of art—the “tools,” to create. In the case of art furniture, these elements include space, light, form, texture, line, color, and balance. Each is essential to the process.

Moreover, there are additional essential elements regarding the artist, without which, a life-changing/legacy piece is unlikely to be created. They include a curious mind, a willingness to be vulnerable, an adventuresome spirit, broad-based thinking, and—patience.

Invitational and compelling designs, which “capture” thought and imagination, using a high level of attention to detail. Small things make a big difference.

A thoughtful employment of space, line, form, light, color, texture, and balance. Using both domestic and exotic hardwoods and various finishes that protect and enhance without significantly altering the natural grain and color of wood.

Fair pricing—all NLAF pieces are priced to reflect an honest and fair investment of artistic endeavor, and materials costs. I will commit thoroughly to your project toward creating a transformational experience for you.
